Overview
The Manufacturing Manager leads the daily operations of our food production facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and industry knowledge to deliver on production goals, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and foster a positive and productive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and oversee daily plant operations, ensuring production goals are met safely, on time, and within budget.
Drive compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and environmental guidelines.
Manage, train, and develop plant staff to promote skill growth, safety awareness, and accountability.
Develop and monitor production schedules, adjusting resources as needed to meet customer demand.
Implement and sustain robust quality control measures across all production lines.
Partner with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Lead cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product integrity and efficiency.
Oversee inventory control, ensuring optimal raw material usage and finished goods availability.
Analyze production metrics, identify trends, and implement process improvements through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, R&D, and senior leadership to support company objectives.
Maintain accurate records of production, safety, and compliance activities.
Contribute to strategic planning and operational decision-making at the leadership level.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in food processing or manufacturing leadership.
Deep knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
Demonstrated success managing large teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement practices.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost-control initiatives.
Proficiency in ERP systems, production technology, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
