Job Title: Pediatric Dental Assistant
Location: Detroit, MI 48213
Duration: 3+ Months (with possible extension)
Pay Rate: $23/hr. (W2)
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support pediatric dental care delivery by ensuring a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for young patients and their families. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for pediatric dental procedures.
Assist dentists chairside during treatments while ensuring patient comfort.
Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and process dental radiographs as directed.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling appointments.
Manage dental supply inventory and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
Adhere to infection control, OSHA compliance, and safety standards.
Provide reassurance and emotional support to pediatric patients before, during, and after treatment.
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as a Pediatric Dental Assistant.
Ability to build trust and rapport with children and their families.
Proficiency in tasks such as x-rays, operatory setup/breakdown, and chairside assisting.
Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program (required).
Valid X-ray license (required).
CPR certification (required).
Coronal Polishing certification (required).
Nitrous Oxide certification (preferred).
