Job Description

Contract Attorney Immigration Law — State Bar required, Spanish preferred but not required Our law firm is looking for an attorney who is ready to represent our existing client base on a contract basis. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
  • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients’ needs after analysis
  • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
  • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
  • Provide representation for clients in court in legal cases pertaining to Immigration Law
  • Representation at Master Calendar and Individual Hearings
  • Representation at USCIS interviews
  • Organize and record all official documents required to file cases
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
  • Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
  • Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years required
  • Jobseekers should be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Association
  • Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must
  • Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Fastcase, Westlaw, and Lexis products is required
